Recording an incident properly is even more important than catching something on tape. Don’t use tape systems. Only use Digital video recording. Higher quality recording ensures you can catch the person or make out that extra little detail you aren’t able to on tape. As well as with tape systems fast forwarding and rewinding is a nightmare. On DVR systems you only see events that have happened; instead of watching an empty drive way for 6 hours on fast-forward.
Example the screen would say,
Incident #1 you would go to that and it would show someone walking by.
Incident #2 someone else walks by.
Incident #3 someone smashes your Car window in and steals your GPS and your laptop you forgot in your car last night.
Dates and times are properly set on the DVR to get accurate time frames and help to assist police in making an arrest! Best of all recording at night is a breeze! Simple to use and even easier than a VCR!
